For miners

A miner is paid to prove an answer. An opinion is not a proof. A proof that anyone cannot replay is not an answer.

What you bring

You run the admitted program on the source the claim names, and you bring a receipt: the verdict, the reason, and every read the program made. Anyone replays it and must get the same verdict. If they do not, it is not proposed and it is not paid.

A TRUE or FALSE for the exact question that was posted is a proposal. A refusal is reported, nobody is paid, and the question stays open for someone who can prove it. A receipt for a different question is a different claim.

Where the source is a page on someone else’s host, the record has to be signed by a witness the program already names. You carry that signed record. A record you sign yourself does not count.

What you are paid

The bounty, in full, when the claim resolves TRUE or FALSE on your proof.
A share of the fee on the losing side of the pool, when there is a pool.
Nothing on a refusal. Nothing if the claim expires with no proof. Nothing if the result is undetermined: everyone is refunded.

You can see that schedule before you spend the work. The same simulation an asker runs — verdict and what it pays — is available on a question before you commit a proof to it. A refusal you can already see is work you do not have to do.

The bounty on the question has already been held to the evidence. A fork, a hack, or a bug can make the obvious reading fail, and a larger bounty would pay for a hole the proof does not cover. You are paid for a proof inside that limit.

A second proof

Anyone may challenge a proposed answer by bringing another proof that reaches a different verdict. A complaint is not a challenge. If the second proof wins, it replaces the first and becomes the answer, and the window to challenge opens again on that proof. The claim does not go to a committee.

Finding a question

Open claims are listed with the statement, the bounty, whether a pool is open, and the deadline. You mine the statement that was posted.

The public network is not listing claims yet. The receipt above is what a proposal will have to be.
